1984 - No voting right for women in the Swiss canton Appenzell: The people's general assembly (only for men) named Landsgemeinede of the small Swiss canton Appenzell-Ausserrhoden is seen during the voting by show of hands on the main place in Trogen (Eastern Switzerland) weekend last. The man defeated again a social democratic petition for adopting the voting right to women. The women have only the voting at federal government level.
