Yehudi Menuhin rehearsing for 50th birthday concert, London

1966 - Yehudi Menuhin Is Fifty Today- The most famous child prodigy since Mozart, Yehudi Menuhin, the world famous violinist, is 50 years old today - and at the Festival Hall in London next Tuesday, the musical world holds a birthday concert for him. The highlight of the evening is bound to be Yehudi conducting his sisters Yaltah (centre) and Hephzibah, and his 14-year-old son Jeremy in a Triple Concerto by - appropriately enough - Mozart. The birthday concert also marks Jeremy's London debut as a concert pianist. Not surprisingly, he too is something of a prodigy. He could read and write music before his alphabet, said his mother yesterday as he rehearsed with his father and aunts in London. H/Keystone 1/789762
