Young students in movement class, London Opera Centre

Nov. 11, 1963 - The London Opera Centre Begins Its Career As A Training Ground For Young Opera Singers: The London Opera Centre has now begun its career and is functioning as a training centre for young opera singers, coaches, and as a rehearsal stage for the Covent Garden Opera Company. The centre was formerly the premises of the old Troxy Cinema in Commercial Road, Stepney, once a favourite of the dockers and their families, which has now been converted, and taken over by the Covent Garden Opera House, and sponsored by the Arts Council. Photo shows students in the special Movements room of the centre, being taught movements of the opera by Miss Simone Michelle, one of the movement teachers at the centre (far right)
