GLC-LFB Fire Investigation Unit

Fire investigation teams were introduced to enhance the fire investigation capability of the Brigade, These units were watch related and placed strategically across London. The Station Officer and junior officer would attend all four pump fires and upon request assist the officer in charge to determine the probable cause of the fire. The units carried special forensic monitoring equipment that could determine if accelerants had been used to start a blaze
