The correct and incorrect methods of breaking hose couplings. The man on the right holds the wrong coupling (female), allowing the male coupling to fall to the ground when the lugs of the female coupling are released. This can cause damage to the hose coupling. The man on the left is undoing the couplings correctly by holding the male coupling between his knees and holding onto the female coupling when the lugs are released
