Ace of Spades road houses advertisement

Advertisement for the famous Ace of Spades road house, the progenitor of a number of road houses that attracted fun-seeking motorists during the inter-war years. The Ace of Spades had two branches, on the Kingston by-pass and the Great West Road. The advert appeared in a theatre programme for the 1932 play, Road House by Walter Hackett, which was staged at the Whitehall Theatre and tapped into the contemporary taste for these destinations during the inter-war years
