View of the Show Boat at Maidenhead, a modern road house style club built in 1933 catering to a sophisticated clientele with its swimming pool, restaurant, cocktail bar and sun bathing area. Considered state of the art when it first opened, it became a United Services Club on the outbreak of war and then became a factory. It never reopened as a club and was eventually demolished in January 2019 to make way for residential flats
