Lady Lyttelton
Sarah, Baroness Lytellton, (1787 - 1870), lady-in-waiting to Queen Victoria and much-loved governess to the Queen's children, including the future King Edward VII, who affectionately called her Laddle'. Born Sarah Spencer at Althorp, Northamptonshire, she was the daughter of George Spencer, 2nd Earl Spencer. She left Queen Victoria's service in 1850 following the death in childbirth of her daughter in order to care for her orphaned grandchildren
