Postcard of Wanstead Park
Postcard from 1910 with various views of Wanstead Park. Part of Epping Forest, Wanstead Park is situated in Wanstead, in North East London and was originally the grounds for one of the country's finest stately homes, Wanstead House. The house was demolished in 1824 and the grounds were transformed into a 140 acre municipal park under the auspices of the Corporation of London in 1882. Today, it is Grade II listed and a few original features from the landscaped gardens remain such as the Grotto (pictured top left)
