The Royal Air Force Memorial in silhouette
The Royal Air Force memorial, on the Embankment, London, captured in silhouette. Built in 1923, it is situated on the Victoria Embankment close to Cleopatra's Needle and is dedicated to members of the Royal Flying Corps and RAF who lost their lives during the First World War (and subsequently, all future conflicts). The eagle was designed by William Reid Dick and the monument by Sir Reginald Blomfield
