People in the crowd at an anti-apartheid rally in Trafalgar Square, Central London. This rally of 8000 people inaugurated the boycott of goods from South Africa in protest at the country's anti-apartheid policies and practices. The rally was addressed by the Labour leader Hugh Gaitskell, the Liberal MP Jeremy Thorpe, and the Anglican clergyman Trevor Huddleston
