David Lan

David Lan, playwright, filmmaker and theatre director. Born in South Africa in 1952, he emigrated to the UK in 1972. He was writer in residence at the Royal Court Theatre from 1995 to 1997. Since 2000 he has been Artistic Director of the Young Vic Theatre on London's South Bank. In the year this photograph was taken he was working on two plays for theatre, Painting a Wall and Bird Child. ~~
