Operagoers stroll around the gardens at Glyndebourne, near Lewes, East Sussex, venue of the annual Glyndebourne Festival Opera since 1934. In 1963 the operas performed here were Capriccio (Richard Strauss), Fidelio (Beethoven), Pelleas and Melisande (Debussy), The Coronation of Poppea (Monteverdi), The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute (Mozart), and The Rake's Progress (Stravinsky)
