A wood carving on a pew end in St Peter's Church, Lew Trenchard (Lewtrenchard), near Okehampton, Devon. The carving depicts St George slaying the Dragon: he is holding his sword in the air, and the Dragon lies under his feet. Rather unusually, St George has large wings, no doubt indicating his saintly status
