Harness Electropathic belts
Advertisement for Harness Electropathic Belts. This was the main product of Cornelius Bennett Harness Medical Battery Company. The belt contained zinc and copper plates that when placed next to the patient's skin the patient's sweat was "sufficient to excite a mild continuous current that was a specific treatment in some diseases". Unfortunately, a series of scandals involving the efficacy of the belt lead to the company going into Receivership in 1893
