Reverse of Mather's fly paper plate, printed with an advert for "Mather's Royal Balsamic Plaisters as supplied to the Army and Navy at Scutari Hospital. Sold at 1d, 2d, 3d, 4d, 6d and 8d each by all Chemists." The illustration shows a man apparently with a chest wound. Below is another advert for "Mather's Improved Infant Feeding Bottles." The hospital at Scutari became famous during the Crimean War through the efforts of Florence Nightingale
