Men's button boots
Victorian men's button boots, circa 1890. Button boots became popular for both men and women in the 1880's. Besides being both fashionable and attractive, button boots were also considered to be practical and functional as the buttons would not get loose, unlike laces that would come undone as the day wore on. However, it was quite difficult to button up and therefore, a button hook was invented
