Anna Karenina, by John Pollock after Tolstoy's novel
Anna Karenina, a play by John Pollock based on the novel by Tolstoy. First produced at the Ambassador's Theatre, London, December 1913. Flyer for the Scala Theatre, London, to which the play was transferred in April 1914. It starred Lydia Yavorska (also known as Princess Bariatinsky - John Pollock was her second husband). The heroine's clothes reflect the period of the production rather than the 19th century setting of the original story
