Promotional music sheet covers for The Banting Quadrille by C. H. R. Marriott, circa 1860s. William Banting, a London cabinet maker and undertaker, invented a diet which involved cutting out fat, starch and sugar. The illustration shows a conductor presumably before and after going on the Banting diet. The Banting style of diet still exists today
