Brigadier Gerard by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, based on the character in The Exploits of Brigadier Gerard (1896). First produced at the Imperial Theatre on 3rd March 1906. Lewis Waller, the leading matinee idol of his day, is seen as Gerard in the uniform of Napoleon's army, standing on a battlefield. The artist is John Cameron. The Imperial Theatre has been crossed out and replaced with the Lyric. Another copy does not have this text
