The Chaperon by Jocelyn Brandon & Frederick Arthur
The Chaperon by Jocelyn Brandon and Frederick Arthur. First produced at Devonshire Park in Eastbourne on 21st April 1013 and at The Strand Theatre on 26th April 1913. Presented by Louis Meyer. The image of a woman between two men indicates the nature of the farce, in which, among other awkward situations, a married woman dining with her lover and a chaperon is more attracted to the latter. Although the artist has signed this illustration it is somewhat difficult to read the surname. Bert Thomas
