The Cuckoo by Charles E. Brookfield

The Cuckoo by Charles E. Brookfield (19 May 1857 - 20 October 1913) adapted from "Decore" by H. Meilhac (Theatre des Varietes, Paris, 27th January 1888). First produced at the Avenue Theatre on 2nd March 1899. For the Vaudeville Theatre revival, revised by the author on 26th November 1907. Charles Hawtrey (21 September 1858 - 30 July 1923) who is shown, was a leading comedy actor. Here he played an eloping lover whose acts of gallantry are always ill timed.
