Driven From Home by Gilbert Hastings Macdermott
Driven From Home by G. H. Macdermott (27 February 1845 - 8 May 1901). First produced at the Grecian Theatre on 31st July 1871. It was expanded by an unknown playwright and produced at the Grand Theatre in Birmingham on 10th October 1884 and then at the Pavilion Theatre on 14th June 1886. It was adapted by one of the Melville brothers around 1900. The caption reads: "Wife and Daughter". Laura Raybrook is "driven from home" by her father, seated left, out into the snow, right, for marrying a man of whom he disapproves
