The Fascinating Mr. Vanderbilt by Alfred Sutro (7 August 1863 - 11 September 1933). First produced in England at the Garrick Theatre, on 26th April 1906. Mr Vanderbilt is a charming cad who admits to the heroine that he has caused the car to break down outside a remote hotel, so that he can compromise and then marry her. "The Comedy of the Year". Touring to the Opera House in Torquay, on 22nd October 1906
