First produced at the Drury Lane Theatre, London 14th September 1911.This image shows the great earthquake scene (Act III scene 7) and is from George Dance's Co. tour to the Opera House, Northampton, 14th October 1912. The publicity booklet which contains all these images notes that the artist Arthur Collins, was assisted by eyewitnesses of the Messina earthquake (1908) and photographs taken on the spot. In the flyer, the image is captioned "Devastating Effect Of The Earthquake"
