Charles I by W. G. Wills. First produced on 28th September 1872. The play was written for Sir Henry Irving (6 February 1838 - 13 October 1905) and was one of several parts played by his son, Harry Brodribb, (5 August 1870 - 17 October 1919). Harry, pictured here, was commonly known as H B. "The Lyons Mail" and "The Bells" were also old Henry Irving favourites that H. B. played on this tour, which reached The Grand Theatre in Southampton on 14th October 1907
