Promotional postcard for Pot-Pourri by James Tanner music Napoleon Lambelet. First produced Coronet, 3rd April and Avenue Theatre, 9th June 1899. Announcing that "a new form of entertainment" - an English version of the French revue, with satire on the events of the past year in a single story. Many of the figures are from popular plays "The Little Minister", The Geisha" |. "A Greek Slave", and "The Tyranny of Tears". Billed as "The Greatest Success Known in London for Years" cartoons of George R. Sims, W. G. Grace and Emil Zola are shown, and the Drury Lane melodrama "The Great Ruby", a satire on which provided the revue's framework
