Causey Arch, County Durham
View of Causey Arch, near Stanley in County Durham. It is the oldest surviving railway bridge in the world, opened in 1725. The Tanfield railway crossed here to transport coal to the River Tyne. The Tanfield Steam Railway still runs here, operated by enthusiasts. A small stream called the Causey Burn runs under the bridge. ~~
