Hexham Gaol and Moot Hall, Northumberland
Hexham Old Gaol and Moot Hall, Northumberland. The gaol was built in 1330-33 and is said to be the oldest purpose built prison in England. The Moot Hall attached to it was built in the 15th century and served as a gatehouse as well as a venue for meetings. Both are Grade I listed buildings
