England polo team arrive in the USA, 1914
The famous British polo team that won the International Polo Cup (Westchester Cup) in 1914. Team includes: Vivian Noverre Lockett (1880-1962), Major Frederick W. Barrett, Colonel Henry Archdale Tomkinson (1881- 1937), John Arthur Edward Traill (1882-1958) and Captain Leslie St. Clair Cheape (1882-1916). Captain Leslie St. Clair Cheape (1882-1916), British soldier and polo player dubbed, England's greatest polo player'. He played for England in the Westchester Cup three times in 1911, 1913 and 1914. He was killed on 23 April 1916 while commanding a squadron of the Worcestershire Yeomanry on the Western Front
