Betula pubescens (synonym Betula alba) - commonly known as downy birch, moor birch, white birch, European white birch or hairy birch. Collected from a tree in Salt Hill Road, Fishbourne, near Chichester, Sussex. 1. Mature leaves and fruit. 2. Male and female catkins on twig. 3. Back view of female catkin (x16). 4.
