Buddleja davidii - butterfly-bush
Buddleja davidii - summer lilac, butterfly-bush, or orange eye. Found in many places, on walls, on waste ground, this plant was collected from a bomb site in Portsmouth, it was growing in great profusion. 1. Main stem showing leaves covered on back with down, also stem. 2. Flower showing corolla and calyx, in the centre of the porianth tube are four swellings where the stamens rest inside, calyx four tooth with a small bract (x6). 3. Flower cut open to show four stamen and style and ovary in position. 4. Fruit (x6). Dandy 375/1
