Rose Panel with Border " woolwork design
Rose Panel with Border - Depicts a quarter of a panel with rose sprigs and an undulating leaf border. Rose motifs on blackground - border consists of undulating gold leaves with a background of three shades of blue. A hand coloured Berlin Woolwork pattern produced in Berlin circa 1840. Only the finest patterns were hand coloured. The first Berlin Woolwork patterns were printed in Berlin in 1804 and were introduced into England shortly afterwards, reaching their peak of popularity in about the 1830s
