3rd Earl Fortescue
CHICHESTER SAMUEL PARKINSON-FORTESCUE, 2nd Baron Clermont and 1st Baron Carlingford (1823 - 1898), known as Lord Carlingford from 1874 to 1887 and Lord Clermont after 1887. British statesman and Liberal politician. Made Chief Secretary for Ireland in 1865, serving in Gladstone's cabinet but later parting on the question of Irish Home Rule.
