Arrival at Havana of Spanish Volunteers

Arrival of Spanish volunteers at Havana to fight in the Ten Years War. Small boats carrying soldiers and bearing Spanish flags row towards the dock, where a crowd of townspeople stand pointing and watching. Cuba had wanted representation in Spanish government, and a stricter enforcement of the Slave Trade ban, and rebelled against an increasingly militant Spanish government. It ended in a Spanish victory in 1878, but many who fought would go on to fight in the more successful Cuban War of Independence in 1895
