The Miners Federation of Great Britain triggered the 1926 General Strike by refusing wage cuts and longer hours. Driven by pay cuts and longer hours, the miners cause was heavily influenced and supported by Bolshevik-aligned communists and left-wing trade unionists, while being undermined by the capitulation of moderate Labour leaders
