Cartoon, a nouveau riche man, who has made his money from the war, tells a showgirl that he arrived in Paris in clogs, and he won't blush to admit it. She replies that he would have difficult to blush anyway (he already has a red face from his rich lifestyle). A note below the caption says that this was the final cartoon received from the artist before he died on active service the previous October
