Two crosses 1917
A Soldier returns home to his wife with a new medal she is curious why he has received it, his reply Yes. Another chap and I raided a trench, thats all'. During World war One, and after most soldiers did not want to tell family and friends what really happened during their time in the trenches, this shows a soldier brushing over the fact that one of his comrades has died
