Fieschi's Machine infernale
Corsican criminal Giuseppe Fieschi conspired with two members of the Societe des Droits de l'Homme, Morey and Pepin, and created an infernal machine consisting of twenty gun barrels, to be fired simultaneously. The machine exploded, killing 18 but not the intended target King Louis Philippe of France. Fieschi was convicted and guillotined in Paris on the 19th February 1836
