Herakles and Deianeira - Edmund Dulac
Herakles aims his poisoned arrow at the centaur, Nessus as he carries away Herakles wife, Deianeira over the River Achelos, mortally wounding him. But the blood of Nessus, staining Deianeira's dress, eventually poisons Herakles, who is sent it after he is unfaithful to his young wife
