John Cooper
John Cooper (1839 - 1926), famous lion-tamer. At ten years old having lost both parents, Cooper ran away from Birmingham, his native town, with Batty's Circus. Dubbed the youngest lion tamer at twelve in the World, he began a career which bought him into the presence of most of the crowned heads of Europe
