The Landing at Savannah
James Edward Oglethorpe landed in Georgia in 1733 after peacefully negotiating land from the Mico of the Yamacraws Tomo-chi-chi, and is the principal founder of Savannah. A wooden crane winches up barrels and supplies from the shore to the higher cliff, as men carry more supplies up towards the houses. A large ship lies anchored in the distance
