 : The Little Hoppers Hospital

The Little Hoppers Hospital

The Little Hoppers Hospital at Five Oak Green, Paddock Wood, Kent, which prior to its role as a hospital for the local hop pickers, was the Rose and Crown public house. The hospital had a ward for 10 to 12 children. Those in this group photograph would have been associated with the mission from St Augustine, Stepney; ladies involved in good works; undergraduates from Oxford and Cambridge colleges; and staff from the London Hospital, Mile End. The building is now the Rose and Crown pub once more
