CHARLES PHILIP YORKE, 5th Earl of HARDWICKE (1836 - 1897), styled Viscount Royston until 1873. British Conservative Party politician and Member of Parliament for Cambridgeshire. Served as Comptroller of the Household (1866 to1868) and Master of the Buckhounds (1874-1880). The horse race, the Hardwicke Stakes is named after him. Caption: High Political Office'~~
