David Alfred Thomas, 1st Viscount Rhondda (1856 - 1918), Welsh industrialist and Liberal politician who served at Food Controller at the Ministry of Food towards the end of the First World War, implementing a successful system of rationing. Pictured in The Graphic after his death had been announced in July 1918
