Medmenham Abbey, Medmenham, near Henley-on-Thames, Buckinghamshire, England, a former monastery which became the base of the notorious Hellfire Club during the eighteenth century. Photographed in the Lady's Realm in 1904 in a feature on the desirable riverside residences in Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. By this time it was the home of Mr. Hudson, well known head of the great soap firm
