Mr. Frank Allen of the London Hippodrome

Frank Allen, assisting director and chief of staff of Moss Empires and the London Hippodrome. Originally born in Sunderland, he started in management for Richard Thornton at Thornton's Varieties in South Shields in the mid-1880s. When Edward Moss joined forces with Richard Thornton, he became manager of what was then known as Moss and Thornton's Northern Circuit
