The Old Curiosity Shop by Charles Dickens, first published in the weekly serial Master Humphrey's Clock from 1840 to 1841 and then as its own book in 1841. Mr Swiveller poured forth the few remaining drops as a libation upon the gravel. Dick Swiveller in the bar pours out of the remains of his beer before handing the empty tankard to the boy working there
