Peter the Great House at Deptford. near the docks was the seat of john Evelyn called Say's or Saye's Court, where Peter the Great, Czar of Muscovy resided Saye's court was not based on a very secure footing for he tells in 1660-1 that he had repeated visits from his Majesty's surveyor, to take an account of what grounds I challeng'd at Saye's Court
