Pope's villa at Twickenahm
Villa belonging to Alexander Pope at Twickenham, featured in an article in The Lady's Realm entitled, Some Charming Riverside Residences'. The magazine gets quite carried away writing about it; "Here is the celebrated grotto, made by the poet; here Dryden, Swift, Lady Wortley Montague, Horace Walpole, and others at various times aired their eloquence and made their sallies and witty remarks. What a galaxy of talent we should have met could we have gone there in 1700 instead of 1900!"
